Purple Fashion Magazine Issue 3 (Volume III)

Spring/Summer 2005, an issue whose interview list runs from Eminem to the Spanish exploitation director Jess Franco, and whose fashion pages were shot by Hedi Slimane, Gus Van Sant and Terry Richardson.

Yan Céh interviews Eminem and, separately, Jess Franco with Giasco Bertoli. Alison M. Gingeras talks to Ashley Bickerton, Christine Macel to Jonathan Meese, Pablo León de la Barra to Los Super Elegantes and Anna Dubosc to Yann Andréa. Chuck Palahniuk sets out his rules. The fashion stories include Hedi Slimane's "Kamikaze," Gus Van Sant on Dior Homme, Takashi Homma's "Tokyo, City of Golf," Terry Richardson's "Little Glitz Girl" and Pierre Even's "Just Married Béatrice Dalle." Visual essays come from Vanessa Beecroft, Rita Ackermann, Andro Wekua and Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, whose "1993/2005" sets a pair of their own pictures twelve years apart.

Purple's Best of the Season was shot by Terry Richardson, the start of a run of seasonal portfolios he would photograph for the magazine for most of the next decade.
