Wako Book 4

Wako Book 4 (2008) is a selection of Wolfgang Tillmans’s photographs from 1994 to 2008, taken in different cities and across a range of genres.

Tillmans edited and designed it, and the text is in English and Japanese. Wako Works of Art in Tokyo published the octavo softcover, which has 69 illustrations from photographs, mostly in colour. The white wrappers are lettered in silver on the front and carry a photograph on the back. A bookseller lists the first impression as 1,500 copies and notes an original printed glassine wrapper.

It is the fourth in the Wako Books series, which follows Wako Book 3 and runs to a sixth volume in 2020. Tillmans’s bibliography lists each as an artist book edited and designed by him.
