Private Book 2

Private Book 2 reproduces the second of Lee Lozano's pocket notebooks with its taped-in pages, drawings, charts and scribbled-out words left as she made them.

Karma issued it in 2017 as a 196-page spiral-bound paperback, 5 by 3 inches, printed in colour in an edition of 2,500. A post on the D.A.P. blog at its release says the facsimile is close to indistinguishable from an original apart from the marks of age. It notes taped-in pages that appear hand-lettered on both sides, and that the entries log cigarette consumption, drug trips, conversations with other artists and ideas for future work.

Lozano edited the notebooks in 1972, sometimes blacking out whole pages, and Karma reproduces them one volume at a time as facsimiles. This is the second of eleven.
