Purple Fashion Magazine Issue 29: Purple 76 Index (Volume IV)
Spring/Summer 2018, an issue built entirely as an index: seventy-six people, filed alphabetically from Sita Abellan to Slavoj Žižek, each given a portrait or a short interview.
The list runs through Virgil Abloh, Doug Aitken, Alain Badiou, Vanessa Beecroft, Maurizio Cattelan, Sadie Coles, John Galliano, Nicolas Ghesquière, Thomas Hirschhorn, Carsten Höller, Anne Imhof, Rei Kawakubo, Chan Marshall, Kiko Mizuhara, Jean-Luc Nancy, Rick Owens, Miuccia Prada, Chloë Sevigny, Juergen Teller, Lotta Volkova and Chloe Wise, among others. Teller photographs Balenciaga, Andrea Spotorno shoots Kawakubo and Ghesquière, Chikashi Suzuki shoots Kiko Mizuhara, Henrik Purienne shoots Galliano and Heji Shin shoots Camille Bidault-Waddington. Jérôme Sans, Sven Schumann, Bill Powers, Xerxes Cook and Joshua Glass conduct the bulk of the interviews.
The format turns the magazine's masthead and address book into its editorial structure, and Purple has returned to the index idea in later anniversary issues.
