Bob Colacello, Amy Fine Collins and Jenny Schlenzka supply the institutional memory, and Tourmaline, Charlotte Kemp Muhl, Tali Lennox, Paul Sevigny and CumGirl8 the present tense. Guen Fiore photographs "Candy Darlings" and a feature reads Guy Bourdin's New York as a love letter to America. Fashion covers Gucci, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Bottega Veneta, Miu Miu, Valentino and Cartier.

Essays titled "Letter From Harlem," "Rectangular World" and "Will New York Return To Its Glory Days?" set the issue's argument with the city.
