Dromos by Neo Rauch

Dromos

by Neo Rauch
Hatje Cantz · 2018 · Paperback

Dromos, Paintings 1993–2017 surveys the painting career of Neo Rauch (born 1960), from his first solo exhibition in 1993 at Galerie Eigen + Art in Leipzig through the present day, tracing developments in his work with examples drawn from prominent international collections.

Accompanying essays by curators and art historians including Ralph Keuning, Ulf Küster, Harald Kunde, Norman Rosenthal and Klaus Werner provide grounding in the complex iconography and pictorial logic that runs through Rauch's oeuvre. The volume was published alongside an exhibition of the same title at Museum de Fundatie.

Rauch studied under Arno Rink at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig while Germany was still divided; after reunification, his large, enigmatic paintings — combining elements of Pop art, comics and socialist-era advertising graphics — established him as the leading figure of the New Leipzig School.
